The round version of the classic from the SIGNATURE series is ideal in smaller sizes for melting butter or for individual serving of single portions. The round casserole with a larger diameter is perfect for meat and vegetable dishes (e.g., roulades, ragouts). A pot roast can be easily made in it, as well as a hearty stew.

  • The traditional cast iron casseroles from Le Creuset should be a staple in any kitchen! Thanks to the even heat distribution all the way to the edges and lid, cast iron retains heat for a long time. This allows food to continue cooking perfectly even at low heat – while using minimal energy.

Le Creuset Casserole - the ideal pot for roasting, braising, and baking. The casserole is the classic among all Le Creuset products. Ideal for searing meat or cooking rice, sauces, and vegetables. Due to the excellent heat retention of cast iron, it keeps the heat inside the pot for a long time.

Light enamel is particularly suitable for slow cooking processes on very low heat sources and at medium oven temperatures. At MEDIUM and LOW COOKING TEMPERATURES, the best results in cooking, frying, and roasting are achieved. Heat the cookware slowly and carefully to achieve even and good cooking results. Once the cookware is heated, all cooking processes can continue on low heat. HIGH TEMPERATURES should only be used to heat water for vegetables or pasta, or to reduce the consistency of broths and sauces. Never use high temperatures for pre-heating products if you want to lower the cooking temperature afterward. Cast iron retains heat so well that overheated products result in poor cooking results, causing food to stick and discoloring the product surface. Always wait until the pores are closed before turning the food. Then, the roasted food will naturally detach and not stick.

Cooking with Le Creuset Cast Iron

Enamelled cast iron is a remarkable, durable material that meets all modern requirements for preparing and cooking food. Whether you use cast iron for searing, stewing, searing steaks, or baking cakes, there is always a suitable product form and size.

Cast iron is a material that retains heat very well. This can be especially beneficial at low heat settings on the stove or in the oven. Moreover, cast iron is ideal for serving: due to its excellent heat retention, food stored in a covered and warm cast iron pot stays warm even for the second course. On the other hand, cast iron can also be used to keep cold dishes cool. A refrigerator-cold cast iron pot is an ideal place to store cool dishes on a hot summer day. Cast iron items are also suitable for storing food in the freezer and preparing meals in advance.
