Brainstream - PiepEi Character Edition No.3 Early Bird

In the beginning was the egg. The PiepEi. It's actually a classic utilitarian object. It is amusing, but in principle a means to an end. Namely, to be able to enjoy a consistently good breakfast egg anytime, anywhere. But it is also cult. Thus came the idea of a design series. Designed by young and dynamic artists who reflect the spirit of the times. But in the end, it's all about the egg again. It should taste. Cooked to the point. Just store it with the eggs, cook it together with the eggs and wait until the PiepEi Early Bird sings. No matter what water temperature you start with and no matter what level you cook at, the egg will be perfect.

The early bird catches the worm, Wiebke Rauers thought when she created the PiepEi Early Bird. The focus is on the first meal of the day, breakfast. It's only natural when you design an egg timer. Here, a toast dances or a milk glass comes to life. The sympathetic figures of the designer make even morning grumpy smile.

When they are done, you lift the PiepEi out of the water with your now-perfectly boiled eggs, rinse it off and it is ready to be used next time! The PiepEi is an ideal gift for anyone who hates cooking but has to boil an egg occasionally, or anyone that loves cooking but has so much on the go at once, they need a little help to keep track of it all!

The PiepEi will play its melody for 3 minutes, or until cooled off using cold water. When not in use, store it in the fridge to keep it at the same temperature as your eggs. The battery will last for 1-2 years with normal use.

BRAINSTREAM is a German manufacturer of “fun & functional” gifts.  The products are creative, funny and all have a high-t[egg] function and unique feature. This mix of solving a problem and causing a laugh makes them ideal gifts.
Everything started in 2000. Dr. Rupprecht Gabriel, a German engineer and entrepreneur, was annoyed by his poorly boiled breakfast eggs.

“Sometimes they were too hard, sometimes too runny, but rarely the way I like them to be”.  His aim was to spare himself that frustration. BRAINSTREAM’s founder and general manager wanted do invent a product, which did the work for him. The result was BeepEgg® - a singing and floating egg-timer. The first BRAINSTREAM product. Then, Gabriel formed a creative team, coming from different backgrounds, to start BRAINSTREAM as an enterprise.
Not a huge assortment, but a small, strong portfolio with products which fit the claim “fun & function” is the goal of the small, family run company. Funny and functional that is our product’s aim. Never simple gimmics or gadgets.

Made in Germany

The small, family run business stands for quality “made in Germany”. Not only is the design and distribution  based in Germany, but also production. This takes place in BRAINSTREAM’s home base in Bielefeld. Even almost all components are purchased from suppliers nearby. Quality and flexibility are essential for BRAINSTREAM products and short lead times can be counted on.
